Cognex Global Solutions & Services (GS&S) was formed in 2014 as a result of our explosive growth in Consumer Mobile & Wearable devices and Logistics, as well as the needs of customers in our largest market, Automotive. The objective for Global Solutions and services is to drive 3 initiatives:
? Drive continued growth by leading the effort to rapidly validate and productize application specific solutions with potential for high volume
? Lead development and deployment of application specific solutions to strategic global accounts and industries
? Establish a global service infrastructure to meet the needs of our strategic global accounts and industries
China represents the largest growth market for Global Solutions and Services. In 2015, GS&S move continuously on expanding the structure to support scalable business growth in China.
Job Summary:
Cognex is searching for Project Manager Role to lead the development and deployment project of application specific solutions and services to customer satisfaction.
The position is to be responsible for managing solution based projects, with consideration of dynamic environment and timeframe demands. The primary objective for this role is to deliver specific Vision solution development and thereafter massive deployment (at designated sites) in time, in quality and budget, and to customer satisfaction. This role is expected to qualify/evaluate the dynamic project needs with clear account strategy and delivery priority, to drive the project engineering and field operation team to execute the project as committed to customer. This role shall have insights of the project progress against technical, financial and contract management, shall be able to leverage and escalate to obtain all resources that required to perform the job, shall as well act as communication focal point to all major external stakeholders (Customer, Machine Builder, Contracted Manufacturer and 3rd party service providers, etc.).
The role will work closely with Cognex Program Manager and Global Sales team to qualify and prioritize key projects in the target account, and work with Vision Engineering team who lead the pursuit, acquisition and implementation of target Application segments.
Essential Functions:
? Drive application specific solution based development and thereafter the massive deployment in time in quality and budget, and to that customer satisfaction
? Follow the account delivery priority/strategy strictly that aligned with Program Manager and Global MWD Sales
? Drive Project Engineers and Field Service Engineers to conduct the development and deployment at agreed timeframe, manage the technical scoping, specification and issue resolution, monitor the contract obligations and changes if any, and document/report all financial related progresses and impacts.
? With the nature of project dynamic, to identify the risk potentials and critical path in advanced, and work with Program Manager and team to figure out the mitigation and conduct with prompt effects.
? Manage Customer and/or 3rd party provision that defined in the contract. Communicate with all stakeholders as project focal point, and prepare the project report/update in a regular rhythm. Perform as an escalation channel to all those matters that block the progress of the project.
? Manage and coach the Project/Field Engineers, who currently work at specific project assignment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
? >6 years’ working experiences on project based business.
? Proven track record working as full-scope Project Manager. Preference with solid experience at industrial automation and/or Vision segments.
? Convincible project management skillset and the basic knowhow of Industry segment & Automation technology.
? Successful practices in dealing with external customer engagement and communications.
? Business acumen and in-depth understanding of customer real needs and priority
? Experience in managing a Field organization, providing equipment maintenance services is an asset.
? Fluent in Mandarin with good English communication skills is a must.
? Passionate and self-motivated
? Able to travel 70%+, strong customer focus, attention to detail, fast responsiveness and excellent influence skill
Minimum education and work experience:
? Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
? >3 years successful experience managing a scale-size and across-territory project, which delivers on basis of high-tech products.
? Experienced in managing team virtually and dealing with customer as focal point.
