The full-time teacher is directly accountable to the Academic Department for the following duties and responsibilities.
ü Full-time teachers are responsible to teach and advise students in full cooperation with other faculty members and administrators. The first ive of a teacher shall be to provide the student with quality education through professional competence, effective teaching, and wise counselling. The focus should be on learning (from students’ perspectives) and not teaching (from teachers’ perspectives), this is a student-centerer programme.
ü Teachers shall also stay up-to-date with professional trends in the teaching field and help facilitate the continual change that may be required to keep instruction current and relevant.
In fulfilling the role of full-time teacher, each teaching member shall be responsible for the following:
ü Fulfil contractual obligations for a full instructional load (minimum of 180 hours of teaching load per term) during each three-month term.
ü All assignments are made considering the best interests of the students and are based on documented training and/or experience relative to such assignments.
ü Conduct each class according to the approved course outline on file in the Academic Department where syllabus adjustments are deemed necessary, coordinate such changes with the Programme Director.
ü Utilize the approved textbook and/or other instructional materials for course assignments coordinate any changes or additions to the approved textbooks (using appropriate forms and procedures and in advance of the published deadlines) through the Academic Department.
ü Be fully prepared and on time for each assigned class, conducting each class for the length of time indicated in the syllabus and at the times specified in the class schedule.
ü Maintain adequate course records and provide written explanation of the grading system, course requirements, and other class policies per the guidelines provided by the Academic Department to all students in his/her classes.
ü Submit (input) mid-term, and final grades by the published deadlines.
ü Be accountable for ensuring coverage of classes and other responsibilities in the event of authorized absence.
ü Maintain open communication for the benefit of students to ask questions and for class supervisors to clarify students’ progresses.
ü Maintain and sustain the university’s policies on high standards of behavior among students. It is expected that each teaching member shall maintain the same high level of conduct, both personally and professionally, that is expected of students.
ü Maintain professional competence through continuous study, research, and awareness of new developments and more effective instructional methods in the specific instructional discipline.
ü Perform some program management duties as assigned by the Program Director.
ü Attend faculty and departmental meetings.
ü Advise the Program Director of opinions and/or recommendations relative to any instructional or other policies or practices that might facilitate or improve the university’s instructional mission.
ü Participate in the annual commencement program.
ü Be familiar with and abide by established procedures and policies of the university.
Qualification and Requirements:
ü Master Degree holders in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Operations, Strategy, Marketing, and/or Human Resource (preferably from U.K., U.S., Canada, or Australia) and at least 3+ years professional experience
ü Desire to teach and coach.
ü Good understanding of, and experience with, business and management era.
ü Strong presentation and communication skills
ü Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with students.
ü Excellent knowledge, and ability with standard office technology such as MS Office, Internet, intranet tools, etc.)
